How to Address Bolt Loosening Problems

 

Loose bolts and nuts can cause big problems. It can be loose because of frequent vibrations, big impacts, and even due to hot temperature. We use bolts and nuts to join or attach some objects, keep it stable, and prevent it from falling apart or breaking down.

 

It's only natural that the equipment or machine will fall when both become loose. The purpose of the nuts becomes really invalid because of some loose bolts. It might even be that all other bolts will be released just because of a loose bolt.

 

Loosen spontaneously, or loosen yourself rotation, basically when the bolt rotates off because of a shock, vibration or dynamic load. Even a little rotation can be enough for the connection which is scattered to lose all the preloads. This is the most common cause of bolt loosening.

 

Depending on the application, bolt loosening can have deep consequences. One loose bolt can carry the entire production plant to traffic jam and the cost of the company is thousands, whereas in other applications loose bolts can cause significant safety hazards. So, what are the reasons that loosen bolts? Broadly speaking, there are two main causes: bolt loosening and loosening spontaneously.

 

Another general method is to increase friction between thread bolts. There are a number of solutions to do this, and while some of them are effective, they also have their losses. Glue or adhesive can be an effective friction based method, but dry glue can be problematic in terms of spreading and removing bolts. Furthermore, increasing friction between the utas will reduce the preload that can be achieved at a certain level of torque. Locking wire is a common method in the aviation industry.

 

Why should the bolt tightened carefully?

The joint which is violated is very important for safe operation of many types of equipment in various applications, including power plants, manufacturing, mining, and transportation.

 

In the connection that is scattered, tightens the nuts really stretches a small amount of bolts, such as pulling a stiff spring. This stretch, or tension, produces the power of the opponent's clamp that holds two parts of the joints together. If the bolt is loose, this clamp power weakens.

 

Loose bolts are not just annoying disorders. If the connection is not quickly purchased, the application can start leaking liquids or gases, bolts can break, equipment can be damaged, or disaster accidents can occur.

 

Maintaining the right tension ensures the bolt remains tight

Combination of good combined design, the development of the right clamp strength, and the appropriate bolt retention device can be reliable safely securing the bolt connection to many challenges raised here.

 

A good combination will be designed with the size and type of bolts and nuts, and determine the optimal amount of tension to achieve the clamp power needed to maintain shared integrity.

 

In the application itself, the development of the right clamp strength requires that the correct level of tension (preload) in each bolt has actually been achieved - and remains at that level throughout the operating age.
